Welcome to Biketreks Grizedale! Whether you want a scenic cruise or a full-throttle mountain bike adventure, we have the perfect ride for you. Our premium hire fleet features world-class brands like Specialized, Santa Cruz, Norco, Moustache, and Whyte.
Our Bike Options
- Standard Bikes: Available for a quick 3-hour session or a full-day adventure.
- Electric Bikes: Hired on a full-day basis. Your hire lasts for the duration of the battery. If ridden economically, a charge can easily last you all day—just keep in mind that staying in higher power modes will drain the battery faster.
Hire Timetable
To ensure every single bike is professionally cleaned, safety-checked, and fully recharged for the next morning's riders, we operate on strict seasonal windows:

- Book in advance: We highly recommend booking ahead to guarantee your bike and frame size.
- On the day: Walk-ins are welcome if you want to run the gauntlet and see what we have left, but you will be risking availability. Please note our final walk-in collection cut-off times listed in the table above.
Hardtail Mountain Bikes
Explore Grizedale on and off-road with our versatile Specialized Rockhopper hardtails, equipped with responsive disc brakes and front suspension forks to tackle most local routes. We stock a massive range of sizes from Extra Small to XXL to comfortably fit everyone from tall youths to giant adults.

Hardtail Electric Bikes

NOTES
- All under 18's must be accompanied by a riding adult at all times.
- Electric bikes can only be ridden by those aged 14 years and over - UK law and our insurance dictates this.
- Children must be over 1 year old to use a trailer and each child can weigh no more than 20kg, or a combined weight of 45kg for both children and luggage. No dogs are allowed in the trailers
- All hires include a helmet and basic map of the forest.
- All bikes must be collected from us between 9:30am - 1pm (summer) 12pm (winter)
- All bikes must be returned by 4pm (summer) 3pm (winter) - late fees apply.
- We cannot promise any bike that is not booked online or over the phone.
- A helmet MUST be worn at ALL times whilst on our bikes.
- We do NOT offer parking at the bike hire centre, parking is to be in the Forestry England provided sites.
- For the hire of full suspension bikes, full suspension electric and demo bikes, card details will be stored securely on file and photo ID will need to be left with us during hire (and will be kept in a secure safe). Money will only be taken if we feel the bikes are returned to us with serious damage. It is your responsibility to collect your ID at the end of your hire - if ID is left with us, we will post it back to you at a charge of £10.
