Booking Your Hire Bike

Please note that to book online you must make your booking at least 20 hours before you plan to start your hire. We take walk ins if you don't book but it is a case of first come first served we do not reserve bikes on the same day.

All non electric Bikes are hired on a half day (3 hour) or full day (5 hour) basis. All our E bikes are hired for a full day (per battery) rather than half day and full day rate.

A full day rental in summer (March to October) is considered between the hours of 9:30am and 16:00pm. All rentals must be collected between the hours of 9:30am and 13:00pm. All bikes MUST be returned to us at Grizedale by 16:00pm. During winter (Nov to Feb) our last collection time is 12pm and all bikes must be returned by 3pm due to it getting dark.

For the hire of full suspension bikes, full suspension electric and demo bikes, card details will be stored securely on file and photo ID will need to be left with us during hire (and will be kept in a secure safe). Money will only be taken if we feel the bikes are returned to us with serious damage. It is your responsibility to collect your ID at the end of your hire - if ID is left with us, we will post it back to you at a charge of £10.

Please note we do NOT offer any parking for the bike hire, all parking is to be in the Forestry England car parks at either the Kennels or the main car park which are 5 minutes walk to the bike collection point. Parking is subject to paying on leaving and is £12 to park all day. If you're a regular visitor to the Forest then annual passes are available. We do not pay for your parking or offer an alternative to FE sites.
