Cycling & Mountain Biking Trails In Grizedale

Please be aware that due to recent storms there are trail closures within the forest until they can be cleared and repaired. The most extensive damage has been caused to The North Face trail, The Black run and the forests Bridleway network. These repairs may take a while to be carried out but we will update our site as we get notified of trails reopening. If you would like more info give the shop a ring and we will do our best to let you know the state of play.
Whether you've just bought your first bike, or you're happy shredding through rock gardens, Grizedale Forest offers a fantastic opportunity for natural cycling.
Here you will find some of the trails that we explore, and those that are way marked by Forestry England. These trails are for information and inspiration only. For some you need to be an experienced rider, for others they are perfect for a family day out.
Please note that unlike most traditional trails Forestry England haven't colour coded the fire road based trails in terms of difficulty in Grizedale. The colours simply represent the makers you will follow around the forest.
Remember to pack the correct kit for the conditions, a full repair kit, and clothing suitable for the day. When out on these trails you are on your own and in the wild, so make sure you can look after yourself.
And we are afraid that in whichever direction you head there is a 45 minute hill climb so go steady from the off (or hire an electric bike and whizz up them!).
