Grey Trail - Silurian Way

The ultimate Grizedale gravel adventure!

At 18.5 miles, this is the longest trail in the forest and takes around 3½ hours to ride. It's a great choice if you're looking for a longer day out and want to see a good variety of what Grizedale has to offer.

The route starts by heading into the western side of the forest before climbing to Moor Top car park. Cross the road and drop into the eastern side of the forest, where the trail skirts around Grizedale Tarn and opens up to some fantastic views across the surrounding fells.

From here, the route winds around the hill before descending towards Blind Lane car park. There’s then a section of road towards Satterthwaite before re-entering the western side of the forest. This part of the trail offers some of the best views in Grizedale.
